About Ed

My name is Ed Gallagher.  I am a researcher, publisher and speaker and the author of Catholic Symbols as well as several other blogs and websites.

As a practicing Catholic, I have always been interested in the unique symbolism of the Roman Catholic Church and the origin, use and meanings of these Catholic symbols.  This blog displays the continuing results of my research.

I was born in West Philadelphia and grew up in the suburb of Springfield, Delaware County, PA.  I was raised, along with five brothers and two sisters, by loving Irish Catholic parents who taught us the importance of a strong faith and a close family.

I was educated in the Philadelphia Catholic school system having attended St. Francis of Assisi elementary school, Cardinal O’Hara High School and Villanova University.

I hope you enjoy what you read or see on this blog and look forward to hearing your comments, suggestions and requests.
